KOHS introduced a new learning course in 2022 addressing the “mentorship” as a relevant part in the educational process in health care (via diepartner.at). The learning course is certified according to §64 GuKG (Austrian law).
The learning course “mentorship” can be seen as link between theory and practice. The target group (graduate nurses) get qualified to plan, perform and evaluate teaching/learning processes for apprentices on their practical education in health care organizations. (described 2022 in [1]).
This learning course is structured into 6 modules. The education takes 195 units of theory (in presence, virtually and including self-study) as well as 40 units of practical education. The learning course is completed by a final examination before a board (including representatives of public authority).
